About St. Edmundsbury Cathedral
St Edmundsbury Cathedral is a stunning mix of ancient and modern. A former parish church built in the 16th century, it became Suffolk’s Cathedral in 1914 following the creation of the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich. A modern expansion began when Stephen Dykes Bower was appointed architect in 1943 and the work continued until the Cathedral’s Millennium Tower was completed in 2005.
The Cathedral, with its highly decorated and impressive interior, is an incredible venue for a wedding service, it really delivers the 'wow factor' and we welcome any couple who would like to get married here. Plus, we can look at options with you for using our facilities to host your post-ceremony drinks and/or reception. We also offer blessings and thanksgivings.
Also, if you want to use the Cathedral for photos and are getting married elsewhere, then this can be arranged.
